WordPress SEO – XML Sitemap Configuration

Along with XML RPC, WordPress can also keep search engines updated every time you update or add a post or page. There is a third party plugin that creates and manages XML Sitemaps. You can download the plugin from his page to get the latest version, but if you are running WordPress version 2 or higher I suggest you grab this version of the XML Sitemap Plugin. We have made a very minor tweak to the plugin that works with the robots.txt function...

Every time that you add a post or modify an existing page or post WordPress automatically “pings” every site that is included within your ping settings. WordPress comes default with only 1 ping directory: pingomatic.
